CASTING METAL

JoeGinsberg_LuxuryDesignFirm.jpg

In metalworking, casting involves pouring liquid metal into a mold, which contains a hollow cavity of the desired shape, and then allowing it to cool and solidify. The solidified part is also known as a casting, which is ejected or broken out of the mold to complete the process. Casting is most often used for making complex shapes that would be difficult or uneconomical to make by other methods.

VESTIBULE FABRICATION

The main lobby is accessed through a jewel-box atrium, consisting of a blackened steel frame featuring 700 panes of prismatic, faceted glass and a paved walkway. This conservatory serves as an intimate and tranquil oasis, bringing the outdoors inside. The atrium is lit by a cast-bronze and hand blown glass pendant light, its design mimicking the atrium.  A hand forged bronze diamond patterned door, consisting of 750 individual panels opens into the lobby.
